Blocked Drains
Blocked drains can be caused by several things. If it's in the main sewer, usually tree roots, wet wipes or sanitary wear is the culprit. Kitchen sinks often get blocked with grease, and showers and basins with hair. If you start hearing a gurgling sound when water or waste is draining away, that's a tell tale sign of a blocked or partially blocked sewer.
But never fear! Mr. Nice knows how to fix it! We have all the latest diagnostic and sewer clearing equipment and can usually get your sewer flowing again within the hour.
Running Toilets
Running toilets waste a huge amount of water each day, which ends up not only costing you money unnecessarily, but also has the potential to cause water damage to your home. Whether it's continually leaking into the bowl, onto the floor or just leaking sometimes, Mr. Nice will know how to fix it so you can get back to your business.
Leaking Taps
A leaking tap has the potential to waste thousands of litres of water a year, but fear not! Mr. Nice can fix any leaking tap or mixer cartridge. We won't just replace the washer, we’ll replace all the perishable components, reseat the base and lubricate the spindle. We thrive on making your tapware work as good as new. Or, if you want new taps or mixers installed, we can do that too!

Hot Water Heaters
Water is very hard to compress which is the fundamental cause of water hammer. This is because it causes pipes to bang and shudder in walls and under houses when taps are turned off. Washing machines and dishwashers can also cause it. At Mr. Nice, we have several thorough and methodical ways of greatly reducing or stopping your water hammer issues to give you peace of mind.
If you can smell gas anywhere on your property we recommend calling Mr. Nice as soon as possible. Not only can a gas leak be costing you money, but if has the potential to be harmful or even fatal. Gas leaks are usually caused by worn out, or incorrectly installed fittings and are usually easy to rectify once located using our bubble leak diagnostic equipment. Alternatively, if you want a new gas line installed for your BBQ, oven, cook top, water heater or room heater Mr. Nice would love to help you cook more easily and stay warm and cosy in winter.
Is your hot water too hot, or not hot enough? Is the water brown when you fill up the basin, sink or bath? Does the temperature fluctuate when you're having a shower or washing the dishes? Some leaks announce themselves with a drip, a puddle, or a telltale stain. Others prefer to remain hidden, quietly wasting water behind walls, under floors, or beneath gardens. These are concealed leaks — silent troublemakers that can cause major damage if left undetected.

Sewer camera inspections and pipe locations
Here at Mr. Nice we’re committed to being honest, friendly and reliable, which is why we want you looking over our shoulder and asking questions when we clear and inspect your sewer. We won't just tell you it needs to be dug up or relined if it doesn't, and we want to show you what we find. We encourage customers to be there, especially if you choose to have your sewer inspected with our diagnostic camera. Alternatively, feel free to contact us if you want a second opinion on recommended works.
TMV Annual Testing
TMV's or Thermostatic Mixing Valves are installed where there is the possibility of getting burnt by scalding hot water. They are usually found in early learning centers and retirement/special care villages. TMV's are required to be inspected and serviced annually, and a major service carried out every five years by a plumber with a separate TMV license.
Mr. Nice is fully licensed and insured to test all TMV devices and lodge all the relevant paperwork.

Backflow testing
Backflow prevention devices are installed to prevent contaminated water from entering the mains water supply and potentially making people sick by drinking the water.
If you have a backflow prevention device attached to your water service, it needs to be tested, and lodged annually to ensure it's still working as intended. You should receive a letter from Sydney Water saying your backflow prevention device needs to be tested by a qualified plumber, with a backflow testing license.
Mr. Nice is fully licensed and insured to test all backflow prevention devices and lodge all the relevant paperwork.

Pipe Freeze Services
When it comes to plumbing, sometimes the smartest move is to hit “pause.” That’s exactly what pipe freezing does. Instead of draining down entire systems or shutting off water to the whole building, we temporarily freeze the water inside a section of pipe. This creates a solid ice plug strong enough to hold back the flow while we carry out repairs or replacements.
It’s neat, efficient, and saves a lot of time, water, and disruption.
